Home To Nashville From Gulf Shores

Feb 13 | Posted by: Bill Whyte |

Northbound to home this morning.

Man what a great show we had last night in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Well over 500 folks came out to see our Evening In The Round trio starring Linda Davis and featuring Lang Scott and myself.  Lang and Linda’s daughter Rylee joined us on the second half of our show last night and the family sang songs from their Grammy winning album “Love Remains”.  And for me that’s particularly special as Rylee sings the song I co-wrote with Jimmy Fortune, Sydni Perry and Rylee’s older sister Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum about Rylee's late grandfather in the song "Safe Haven".

And my great friend and long time co-writer Brent Burns joined us last night and that just made the evening more fun and certainly more unpredictable.  He and Linda sang “Resistible” that Brent and I wrote that we somehow got Linda to sing for Brent’s newest record just out “70 & Partly Funny”.

I know I’m as lucky guy to get to hang on stage with such talented nice friends and to play for so may nice folks like we did last night that included family of mine…two brothers and their wives who escaped the cold from Pennsylvania and Missouri.  Really special for me.

My thanks to all of you who came and to the Cody and the gang at the United Methodist Church for all their work making this a sell out show success.  There’s more than a good chance we’ll be back again next year.

Check my calendar for more “Evening In The Round” dates and come see our show.  We have shows ahead in Jacksonville and Homestead Florida  Also ahead, we have shows in Pennsylvania, several shows in Texas, and Arkansas date and shows in Louisiana and New Mexico with possible confirmations coming in from Montana and Panama City Beach, Florida.

We’d love to see you out front.

We’re packing bags at the great little beach house we’ve stayed in here in Gulf Shores over the past three days and we’ll be rolling home in just a few.

A regular blog from home tomorrow morning.

Have a great Wednesday!
